Baptism

“Holy Baptism is full initiation by water and the Holy Spirit into Christ’s Body, the Church” (Book of Common Prayer, p. 298).

In the waters of baptism we are reminded that we belong to God and nothing can separate us from the love of God. We also find ourselves part of an extended family, one with Christians throughout the ages and across the world, what we call the “one, holy, catholic [meaning ‘universal’], and apostolic Church.”

If you are looking to baptize a child or infant, please fill out the form at the bottom of the page. If you’re an adult seeking baptism, this preparation is usually combined with preparation for Confirmation. Our Catechumenate program prepares adults for Baptism, Confirmation, Reception in the Episcopal Church or Renewal of Baptismal Vows. Contact the clergy for information about the catechumenate program. These Rites take place periodically in conjunction with the Bishop’s visit or at an area wide Confirmation service.
