At the Annual Meeting of the congregation on January 27, 2019, four members of the Cathedral Vestry will be elected. The Vestry oversees the temporal affairs of the Cathedral parish and works closely with the Dean in guiding the life and ministry of the Cathedral. Serving on the vestry is a wonderful opportunity to give back to the Cathedral community and help shape its future. Meetings are held 10 times a year, usually on the fourth Thursday of the month at 5:30 p.m. Regular attendance is essential. Vestry members will also be expected to serve on at least one committee or strategic plan workgroup.
Nominees for Vestry must be committed parishioners who:
- regularly attend Sunday Eucharist;
- participate in the life of the parish; and
- have been pledging members of the Cathedral for at least six months prior to the election.
If you would like to nominate yourself or another parishioner, you may submit that person’s name via email to email@example.com no later than December 7, 2018. (Before nominating someone else, please discuss the matter with that person first.) The nominating committee will evaluate potential candidates and publish a slate in early January.
