Stewardship 2023

Dear Cathedral family,

A few weeks ago, Dean Andy asked us to remember the words St. Paul wrote to Timothy as we think about stewardship and our pledge for 2023. Paul wrote that the people should set their hopes “on God who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. They are to do good, to be rich in good works, generous, and ready to share, thus storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of the life that really is life.”

These words ring true as we all hope to have a good foundation for the future. That’s what we want at the Cathedral, both in our stewardship and in our Strategic Planning efforts for the future. A good foundation is always something to strive for, but it’s more than that. If we live the “life that really is life,” we need to follow Paul’s lead to do good, be rich in good works, be generous, and ready to share.

Our goal this year is to encourage everyone to consider the gifts you have been given as you prayerfully pledge your financial support to the Cathedral for 2023.

With grateful hearts, let us:

  • Do good: acts of kindness to others, reaching out in good work through the ministries of the Cathedral.
  • Be rich in good works: commit to love and serve our neighbors in this community and beyond and continue to respect the dignity of every human being.
  • Be generous and ready to share: in the gifts that we have been given — our lives, our families and friends, and most importantly in the salvation that has been lovingly given to us by our Redeemer.

All of this leads to a good foundation for the future.

Over the weeks to come, you will hear from fellow parishioners as they share their thoughts about what they love about the Cathedral and why they give. You will receive information about the Cathedral’s finances and the importance of your pledge. Together we will pray for our stewardship efforts and, with God’s help, celebrate the results.

Please join us for lunch on Sunday, November 20 in Founders’ Hall to celebrate our spiritual lives together as we each begin our journey of stewardship discernment.

You may make your financial commitment by returning the enclosed pledge card to the Cathedral, by turning your card in at the lunch, or by making your pledge online through the Cathedral’s website. Thank you for your continued support of Grace & Holy Trinity Cathedral!

Yours faithfully in Christ,

The Very Rev. Dr. Andrew C. Keyse
