From the Desk of Dean Andy • 10.10.2025

Wait, wait…! What, what…? Is there an echo in here, here…? Those of you who have been in church with us the last two Sundays may have noticed we were having some difficulty with the sound system. Well, actually, you did notice because you were quick to tell us there was a problem. The two main speakers by the font and the pulpit were out because the amp that controls them went out. Those of us in the altar party didn’t notice because the speakers in the chancel were working, so we could hear ourselves. The speakers in the back of the Nave and in the Choir gallery were also working, so those in the very back could hear. It was just the majority of everyone else in the middle that couldn’t hear or heard an echo. The part has been sent off to be repaired and we have a temporary fix that is working, so we should be fine on Sunday. Thank you for your patience while we figured out what was wrong.

In other news, we have some fun events coming up later this month. Friday, October 24 will be our next game night. Please join us for Halloween Bingo at 6 p.m. in the Common Room. BYOB and snacks to share and get ready to have a great time. Our Fall Festival will be Sunday, October 26 following the 10:30 a.m. service. Many thanks to Deacon Clare, Julie Toma, and Holly Campbell for helping to put it together.

Normally, you would have heard me talk about a Diocesan Clergy Retreat by now. In past years we have been gathering at Conception Abbey in the early part of October. This year we are doing something new. Bishop Amy has called a Clergy Conference for October 26-29 in Branson, MO. I know it will be a prayerful and meaningful time together.

Please continue to pray for one another, for our Cathedral family, our nation, and the world.
