I hope everyone had a joyous Thanksgiving celebration. Now we set our sights on Advent and the many activities we have coming up at the Cathedral as we prepare, once again, to welcome the Christ Child this Christmas.
First up is our Altar Guild workday/Advent Decorating day tomorrow, Saturday. The workday begins at 9 a.m. and the decorating, open to all, starts at 10 a.m.
Sunday is our (reimagined) Advent Workshop in Founders’ Hall after the 10:30 a.m. service. We are preparing toiletry kits for distribution to local organizations. Come help make these kits and pick up a devotional guide written by Cathedral clergy.
Next is the Nativity Puppets in the Nave December 5 at 7 p.m., December 6 at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., and December 7 at 2 p.m. Discounted tickets are available with with code: NPChurch. Come see the story of the Nativity brought to life in this long-standing tradition at the Cathedral with puppets created specifically for our space.
Also that weekend, on Saturday, December 6, will be the Women’s Lunch and Outreach Project at 11 a.m. Our Advent service of Lessons and Carols will be Sunday, December 7, at 5 p.m.
Monday, December 8 is The City Come Again concert presented by William Jewell College at 12 p.m.
Saturday, December 13 will be the Mingle and Munch, Sweaters and Sips open house in the Northland from 5:30-9 p.m. You can register for events on our website: kccathedral.org/advent.
Please continue to pray for one another, for our Cathedral family, for the nation, and the world.
