Happy first day of Spring! It’s hard to believe that it is already here, but then again it is also hard to believe that Ash Wednesday was over a month ago and Easter is only two weeks away! Lent has certainly been moving faster than one might think Lent should move, or maybe that’s just me. We have just a bit to go, but plenty to offer before Easter arrives.
- I hope you will join with me this evening for our book discussion on and our dinner from Being Dead is no Excuse. I did this study about 20 years ago in Chicago and it was so much fun. The food was great and we all had fun sharing what we thought of the book.
- Tomorrow morning from 9-12 is our Altar Guild Workday. We will polish and dust to get ready for Holy Week and Easter, as well as make palm crosses for next Sunday.
- We will also be making palm crosses following the morning services this Sunday.
- Our final Lenten program will be next Wednesday, March 25 as we look at estate planning.
- Sunday, March 29, begins Holy Week as we celebrate Palm Sunday, otherwise known as the Sunday of the Passion. Please see our full schedule for Holy Week and Easter here.
- We will once again be hosting the Diocesan Chrism Mass on Tuesday in Holy Week at 11 a.m. All are welcome to attend. At this service we bless the oils for the year, the clergy renew ordination vows, and the laity will have a chance to reaffirm their discipleship.
Though it may seem like Lent has been short, it has certainly been meaningful and has giving us so many opportunities for service, prayer, study, and reflection. May God continue to bless you in this holy time.
Please continue to pray for one another, for our Cathedral family, our nation, and for peace in the world.
