Get the popcorn and candy ready, it’s movie time! Please join us at 7 p.m. this evening in the Founders’ Hall courtyard as we watch Hocus Pocus. The weather will be a bit cooler, but the company will be warm and inviting. Feel free to bring extra candy or snacks to share. Next month our game night will be Cathedral Family Feud. Please fill out a survey HERE if you haven’t already.

I’m sorry we had to cancel our Hymn Sing and dinner last week. I hope to be able to reschedule it sometime after the first of the year.

Join us tomorrow in the Nave to learn about support for mental health resilience. The Faces of Mental Illness will be presented from 1-3 p.m., followed by a light reception in the Common Room.

Other events coming up include our Healing Service on Sunday morning at both services and Choral Evensong at 5 p.m. Our Fall Festival will be next Sunday, Oct. 25, following the 10:30 service.

This Sunday, Oct. 18, is the Feast of St. Luke the Evangelist. Technically, because the actual day falls on a Sunday, the Feast is transferred to Monday, Oct. 19. Tradition tells us that Luke was a physician and fellow companion of Paul in the early spread of Christianity. Luke wrote the Gospel bearing his name and its sequel, the Book of Acts. Luke is believed to have died at the age of eighty-four in Boeotia, an historic region of ancient Greece. Luke is the patron saint of artists and physicians.

Please continue to pray for one another, for our Cathedral family, the nation, and the world.
