From the Desk of Dean Andy • 05.30.2025

The Cathedral Staff and I met with the Diocesan Staff in a retreat yesterday. This was the fourth year that we’ve joined together to pray, play, and plan. Bishop Diane started these retreats in 2022 in order for the staffs to get to know one another better and to make sure our calendars were aligned. Bishop Amy loved the idea when she heard it and saw fit to continue the tradition. It was the Feast of the Ascension, so we remembered that in prayer as we had a great time together. We don’t have a feast day today, but tomorrow is the Feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The day commemorating Mary’s visit to her kinswoman Elizabeth who was roughly eight months pregnant at the time.

Speaking of babies, don’t forget this Sunday is a parish Baby Shower for Clare and Andres. Join us at 12:30 p.m. in the Common Room to wish them both well.

Coming up next weekend is the Pride mass and Pride Parade on Saturday, June 7. The service will be at St. Paul’s at 9 a.m., followed by the parade and festivities in Theis Park. The Feast of Pentecost is June 8, as well as Wear Orange Sunday and our Parish Picnic. Also coming up is the diocese’s Juneteenth trip to Pierce City on June 19 at 8:30 a.m.
