From the Desk of Dean Andy • 07.20.2025

If we consider summer to be the time from Memorial Day to Labor Day, then we officially hit the halfway point this week. We have a whole second half of summer before us, but it seems like everyone has already started focusing on fall. Back to school sales have started, school supplies have replaced summer pool and picnic supplies, and the Chiefs start training camp next week. Summer’s not over, but I understand having to plan for what’s coming.

We still have some summertime activities happening before fall begins.

  • Tomorrow is our Deanery Ice Cream Social at HJ’s from 3-5 p.m.
  • Adult formation returns this Sunday with a book study on CS Lewis’ The Great Divorce at 9:15 in the Common Room.
  • Our Movie night in Founders’ Hall Courtyard is next Friday at 7 p.m.,
  • Saturday the 26th, are the priestly ordinations of Keith Johnson Jr., CJ Duffie, and Mark Bowers. CJ will preside at both morning services on the 27th and we will bid him farewell and good luck at a special coffee hour following the 10:30 a.m. service.

Looking ahead, we are planning for fall formation classes, the Ministry Fair, our Cathedral Cup Croquet Tournament, and many other great events. For now, though, let’s continue to enjoy summer.

Here is a snapshot of where we are month to date and year to date on our budget through June 30, 2025:

MTD Budget $302,799; MTD Actual $297,863
YTD Budget $1,165,488; YTD Actual $1,100,629

Expenses:

Please continue to pray for one another, for our Cathedral family, for our nation, and the world.
